‘‘Together it works’’

   ‘‘Together it works’’

RESULTS:

  • An ICT evaluation tool in the field of Electro engineering for individual evaluations of employees in this sector;

  • Optimizing the welcome policy at companies in this sector;

  • Drawing up a European Competence Profile for this sector;

  • Drawing up a competency-based training program for employees in this sector focused on safety, environment and behavior.

The purpose of this project is to stimulate and increase the professionalism and competence of Electrical Installation Mechanics. For this purpose, a European Competence Profile will be developed in this sector including technical and behavioral competencies.

Across Europe, the Electron installation sector has experienced problems finding well-trained electricians with “up-to-date technical knowledge. First and foremost, the influx of technical professional training into the labor market remains continuously too limited. As a result, many workers in the sector have not obtained a degree in the Electrical sector and do not have an established technical background. More so, low-skilled people who do not have an electrician degree nevertheless promote because the employer cannot find suitable candidates or technicians with higher degrees. But these people face a lot of problems while performing their jobs: first, they do not have the necessary technical knowledge and second, they do not have entrepreneurial competencies. Also, the sector is characterized by rapid evolution. Since more and more computer and telecommunication technologies are being integrated into the sector's activities, electricians must also learn to better handle these technologies within their field of work.
